My live rock is getting reddish color

help i have a possible outbreak of dreaded red algae what cleaners help eliminate this? please help

yes but aren't there natural ways with like certain snails that help?

I'm not sure what kind of tang it is but I overheard at the LFS about this and some kind of tank picks at the red algae. What kind of filtration do you use? Natural or biomedia? I'd say if you got bio balls or anything similar to go natural with live rock instead and that will cut down on your nitrates which will help slow down the growth of algae.

I haven't found anything that eats the stuff. You may have a nitrate problem. I had a problem with cyano & used this method to reduce it An Instant Nitrate Reduction Method - A Multiple Step Water Change Procedure It definitely worked for me.

Default Mexican Red-Leg Hermit Crab - Coenobita species

I've heard (and read) that this specimen will and may even prefer cyanobacteria red slime algae. But I have used Chemi-clean a couple times and it works as advertised.

We've added turbo and margarita snails (50 for a 125 gallon tank) and they cleaned our red algae very nicely!
