Default Salinity/Specific Gravity Measurements for SPS Corals

1st time starting a thread or asking a Question so thanks in advance for your thoughts and input.

75 Gal ~ 1 year old tank, and I've decided to add some SPS Corals. I bought a reference book and it has been a cornerstone in my Aquaria Quest but there are some parameters that are being recommended that seem a little outside the norms. The recommendation is (specifically for stony corals) 35 PPT. While the tolerable range is from 28-42, I've also read that fish have more difficulty breathing with a higher salinity and also makes it easier for micro-organisms to produce/re-produce. I am thinking of just going to 32-33 PPT but wondered what others have done for their SPS corals?

What is your salinity at now? I keep my sps frag tank at around 1.025-1.026 specific gravity or around S=35. Natural reefs have a specific gravity of 1.0264 or S=35. I recommend to keep it at natural levels.

I keep my salinity at 1.023 always with or without corals. Natural sea water where corals grow also have a tempeture of around 86 degrees on average. I would never let my tank get that hot. I hope this didnt come off rude because I am not trying to just trying to make a point.

My current levels were ~ 1.022 or 30 PPT and I am letting them rise (salt creep) and will replenish with a higher salt concentrate. I also raised the temperature by 4 degrees and is now about 82-84 degrees which (84) is the recommendation for best growth of Hard Corals. I am watching the current population closely, and the Blue Tang seems much more energetic (not necessarily a good thing).
