Icon6 Thoughts on Starfish in a mixed reef..

So. Everyone has their own opinion on starfish in a reef aquarium. What do you think? Are there certain kinds that are beneficial? Or are they just a reef keeper's nightmare because they eat everything and damage their coral?

I have a black and white brittle star that hasn't bothered anything in my tank (knock on wood!). People love to see him come out to eat and he wanders the tank at night going thru all the lr and eats the crud. I will always have a brittle sea star in my reef.

Linkia and black brittle starfish are fine in reef tanks, but I wouldn't recommend any other type of starfish for reef tanks.
