Icon5 Kitty litter in a 'fuge?!
I was talking to a friend of mine that recently set up a 10 gallon refuge......and she said that she put unscented kitty litter in the bottom of her refuge because that's what the LFS said.

WTF?!

Kitty litter is for kitties. Not fish. Or Algae. Or copepods. Kitties.

Am I right!?

I have no idea why any LFS would recommend this. Maybe there was a misunderstanding and they LFS meant kitty litter size granules for the sand bed..???

I have no idea. She said that they recommended unscented kitty litter.

Personally, if anything died in my refuge after listening to them, I would sue. I can't find anything or anyone who says to use it.

Maybe she didn't understand......but still. Kitty litter????!!! lol.
