Default 9 months

I just realized my tank is 9 months old, give or take a couple days. Some comparison pics.

First FTS, didnt even have lights on it.

2month FTS, Torch coral was probably put in too early, its long since gone. Rock stack looks good, too bad it was too tall, with no room to put corals.

4month FTS. Theres actually stuff in this pic that is still alive Tank is nice and green (green diatom bloom) Torch is starting to go, it had 6 heads and 1 died every 2 weeks, I tried everything I could think of to stop it.

8 months FTS. About the time my Coral Beauty started nipping at zoas and my xenia, I discovered later it has a taste for some LPS too, hasnt nipped the brain or blastomussa though.

9 month pic, taken this morning, not quite a fts. 9 fish, 3 shrimp, 1 crab, 1 starfish, lots of corals, mostly softies, shrooms and polyps, 2 lps, 2 nems.

Wow, that's a nice tank! That's cool to see the progression of it, great job! And I love the aquascaping, wish I'd had done mine that way, I like the huge caves and overhangs, great looking tank! Enter in Tank of the Month!

Looks great, just remember nothing good happens fast with a saltwater tank. Keep up the good work and keep us up to date with pictures and any questions.

Nice progression David. Thank you for sharing it. What is the large circular coral in the last picture?

Yea, I would really watch your fish around that large of a mushroom, and keep it fed well.

I feed my anemones twice a week, and toss a silverside to the elephant ear when I do.

Nice!

PUT THESE IN YOUR ALBUM SO WE CAN ENJOY THEM FOR A LONG TIME!

Otherwise these pics get lost in the threads forever.

I see some koralias then a spray bar then a koralia with the spray bar and then the korolia in a differant possition again. Looks like your unsure with your flow.

You need water circulation in there and the spray bars wont do this.

Everything does look good but flow issues take time to show.

Heh, this was advertised as 11inches when I ordered it first week of july. The yellow plastic is a standard 12inch ruler, from edge to center of mouth is 8 inches which puts total diameter about 16.

I think its bigger every time I look at it. When I laid the ruler on it it started cupping up too, so pic is a little less than it was open to.

Nice aquascaping! I see you have a spray bar in the back.

Thanks Lynn.
The left side of the spray bar is pointing down behind the rock to help push detrius into the flow of the powerhead back there. The right side of the spray bar, with the koralia in the right corner, provides circulation to the very right end of the tank.
Im pushing over 2,000 gph in a 75g, softie dominated tank, without annoying my low flow prefering corals.

New arrivals today, Maldives Lyretail Anthias, in acclimation bucket.
