Default help algea out of control!

I have had my tank set up for almost two years and lately I have had an over growth of algea. It won't go away, if I scrub it with a tooth brush how do I do it? In the tank or out? I had help before by a family member and they are no longer around so I am a little lost doing all this myself.

Can you be more specific on the type of Algae? (Picture)

Have you replenished cleanup crew members? Snails and crabs are best for helping to maintain.

Have you changed feeding habits or lost member(s) and now overfeeding?

How's your Nirate results?

Are you using R/O DI water only? If you have Phosphates, could be from the water source.

Being aggressive and removing the rock while brushing are drastic measures and may harm other beneficial parts of the eco system, but sometimes necessary. Scrubbing in the tank usually only helps spread it.
