Default red slime algae

Why do we keep getting it? ARG. We use RO?DI water feed frozen food 1 time a day , blue lights on 10 hrs whites on for 9. we have a protien skimmer 2 power heads and 1800 gph pump. Whats the deal? Tank has been set up since October, we moved it here. Was up at old place for 5 months.
