The bubble tip anemones need strong lighting they live off an algae that grows inside them. You may want to consider a larger tank as well. How long has the tank been setup?

I feel your pain. I used to have the nano and tried the whole clownfish/anemone thing with no success whatsoever. Anemones are usually not good candidates for nanos although I had a condy which did good for a few months. Bigger is definitely better. I recently bought a 55 and controling the water quality and lighting is now a piece of cake.

I just got this anemone on thursday morning over the mail from saltwaterfish.com . It is still very small and it got attached to piece of rock on back of aquarium where there is no light. I dont know if this is normal, although I know they need strong lighting to survive. Its been 2 days, and not growing or not moving towards light. Does anyone know if this is normal or what? Also , theres something white covering a couple of live rocks, its not just spots, it covers the whole rock and it has spread to other rocks. The tank has been running for 2 months , last water parameters 2 days ago were amonia 0 nitrites .25 nitrates 0 ph 8.4 Also have lots of algae growing on rocks , have done various water changes with RO water and it has diminished but dont know if the algae on rocks will diminish by itself or I need to do something to handle it. PLEASE HELP!!!

My bubble tip previously has gone into hiding for a week or more at a time. And it has a mind of its own for where they want to land/stay. If your param are right, your anemone will be fine, just have some patience. Just make sure it can't get sucked into a pump while roaming around. You can always get more cleanup crew members for the algae control or use Chemiclean. I have used this in a reef aquarium and the product does exactly what it advertises.
