Default Nano Setup Ace

I have a question on live rock in a nano!
I wont to know about live rock for a nano, can you chisel smaller peaces off of big peace of live rock???

Ware do you get your live rock I'm looking for as cheap as i can get it!!!

How do you get it stacked so you have allot of space for corals???

Any tips on setting up a nano

Default Hi ACE!

Congratulations buddy your a lucky guy! I seen one of these tanks today at my LFS and it was superb, real nice setup after I saw it I could not wait to check to see if I won one!

You can break the rock some of it breaks easy. Others not so easy. They kind of had the rock stepped down lots of corals in there I was surprised how much. if you like I will ask them how much rock is in there. Hey I will even get a picture if you want. Anyway good luck!

Default Congrads Ace.

Congrads!!!

You should be able to find some small pieces of "rubble" rock at your LFS or you can order online.

The rock is going to help your filtration so I wouldnt skimp on it -- get enough to fill a good portion of your tank. Keep in mind the limited livestock (1 or 2 small fish) you can keep in a nano.

You can definitely chisel away at the rock....this is called hardscaping. Just don't work with it out of the water for too long

I would suggest ditching the sponges that come with that tank and the biomedia crap in the filtration system and replace it with tid bits of live rock fragments to rid yourself of nitrates. Thats what I did with my nanocube. I'd also look into getting the fission nano skimmer. I got mine from saltwaterfish.com for like 25 bucks and just got it today so far so good. I'd also like to suggest only 1 fish, I had two and one died already. no stoney corals either. stick with the softies, xenia, mushrooms, and zoos.
