Default Return pump

Hi All, my MAG9.5 return pump is almost a year old and it has some stray voltage. I called Danner Mfg and they asked that I ship it back for repair/replacement, it will take ~2 wks. Since I have a sump/refugium and can't run without a return for that long, I was thinking now might be the time to get a better, more efficient in-sump pump. I have a 5ft head from sump to DT, any suggestions on a good replacement pump or should I just get another MAG9.5? Probably a good idea to keep one as a back-up anyway.

I responded to you but somehow the post is now gone. I say as long as you had no complaints i.e. not noisy, proper flow etc. stick with it and use the repaired one as a back up.

Thanks Leon. I've used MAG pumps for years on my FOWLR tank but I was surprised I'm having problems with this one already. I have a QuiteOne4000 that I use for water changes (pump old water out of the system), I'm using that as my return for now but it's not as strong as the MAG9 so I'll probably pickup another MAG9
