Default Has this ever hapened to you?

I went to a pet store about 30 minutes away, and bought three Cardinalfish
and one Auriga Butterflyfish. I checked and he had no visual signs of having anything wrong.
As the fish keeper was putting the Butterflyfish into the bag with his water he went to the bottom of the bag and was belly up. So I asked the fish keeper if that was normal and he said it was just stress.
I went right home. By the time I got home he was not moving or breathing very
well. I started the acclimation with both types of fish in different containers at the same time. After about one and one half hours I put the Cardinalfish in my
55 gallon aquarium and they did fine. The Butterflyfish was still not moving or breathing well. I put him in the aquarium after two hours of acclimation and within an hour he had died . I immediately took him back to the pet store. I ended up getting two other fish.

Whoa!! Never heard that one before. Any fish that goes to the bottom of the bag & is belly up should be left at the store. He was no doubt stressed.

who knows how many times he had been disturbed that day and finally had enough. never seen it happen though... usually for me they die after eight days on a seven day guarantee.

I bought 4 green chromis from the lfs and within 3 days all 4 were dead!!! The bad thing is that the lfs has no guarantee on SW fish

This fish store had no guarantee but the manager gave me my money's worth in fish because it died basically in there water plus we took it back the next morning so they had no room to talk!!!

It also helped that I knew more about fish then the the fish keeper and that the manager was nice

knowledge is our best friend when dealing with lfs. the more you know the more they treat you with respect because they don't want to lose business from people that know what they want
