Default Question about LR

Say my tank is a few months old and I want to add a couple pieces of LR, how do I go about doing this? I cant just drop them in can I?

need to cure them first. that is done by placing it in a tub or bucket with a power head in it. change water every day or so until no smell exists ( about a week). after placing it in your tank keep an eye on your water quality because you will get a mini cycle and an amonia spike. offset this by doing frequent water changes till everything stabalizes.
