Default UV Sterilizer

Hi All, still gathering all the equipment for my new 75g setup...I've been getting mixed reviews from the lfs and online material I've been reading concerning a UV sterilizer...is a UV sterilizer required in a reef setup?

Thanks, I know I ask a lot of questions but I'm new to this and you guys have been great. Hopefully someday I'll be able to return the favor to another newbie

no its not needed, it's just one of the many gizzmos that can make life a little easier if you have the money. all it does is remove more from the water that r.o. might leave. i live in a poor water quality area and my r.o. water works just fine on its own. it's still not a bad thing if you have the money. i believe that there may be more uses for a u.v. ster. but i never got too in depth because i was not interested in them.
