Default Long stringy web lookin stuff

Hello

I have noticed some long stringy stuff that looks to be growing of my LR. Its hard to describe, but it looks like a single spider web fiber flowing in the current. They vary in length and location. They trap debris and bubbles. Any suggestions?

I think the guy there said something about using a phosphate pad to help get rid of it

Its white, almost snot like, but very fine. This may sound stupid, but it showed up when I bought my feather duster.

I think you have vermited snails. They have no shell and jut out a spiderweb like tentacle to catch food. See attached. They are supposedly harmless and the sign of a healthy tank according to The Reef Aquarium Vol 2 by Sprung and Delbeek. (Great book!)

i've had these same kind of things, but found out its not a kind of algae or anythinng like that... when i touched it, it sucked back into the liverock..and the source is a really hard knot on the LR... the response is similar to a featherduster...i left them alone because it seems to be helpful, what with catching any extra food and whatnot
