ya it is it was the first thing to go into the tank. Its a blue crab. although im very attached if it gets any bigger i think its gonna have to be relocated.

where did you get your LR? did you collect it yourself by some chance? (just a hunch)

lol actually yes i did, I live a total of 5 minutes from the beach. I have a few peices of figi rubble, but all in all it was from the ocean.

The fish in the very first picture i caught underneath a bridge with a cast net. im not sure what he is but he is really docile and gets along with whatever i put in the tank, so i figured ill let him stay until he causes a problem then its back to the big blue lol

man, anyone have suggestions on keeping my fish from committing suicide?? i have a 29gal bio-cube and so far my clownfish, my mandarian, and other nice fish have gone over the back of the tank and landed on top of the grate above the bio-spheres. of course they always land directly in the middle where there isnt much water. i just got a green clown goby and thank god i found him in the upper skimmer area just swimming around and was able to grab him and throw him back in the main tank. my lil cousin just happened to notice my clownfish down in the filter by the return pump just swimming around, saved him as well. i was thinking putting a piece of plastic back there, not sure how to mount it. i am starting to think my fish dont like me!!!

oh ya i also got the crab, but when i got him he was like the size of a nickel. As you can see from the picture hes grown a lot :O

Thank You i don't have a lot of money to spend so i try and save where possible. Not to say that I skimp on the things you need to just bite the bullet and get the good stuff i.e. Lighting and such

I also live in Florida- not far from Tampa. Have a question for you: Have you had any "hitch hikers" coming out of your live rock? I came across a listing on eBay (just browsing- I wont be buying livestock from there) BUT, this guy said he was swimming, got some rock to bring home to his tank- and had a bunch of baby octopus come out of it! Is that possible? Have you had any 'bad' things come out? And does having the rock come directly from the ocean, not a dealer, change the cycle time?

Well lots of crabs hitch a ride some anemones mostly bad ones but they are taken care of by my cleaning crew, ive had a couple of feather dusters hitch to but are really small. ummmm i think thats about it if i find anything else ill let ya know lol
