Default Switching to a Refugium

I need some advice on switching to a refugium. I have a 90 gal w/ wet/dry filter (came with the tank - Tidepool2), Skimmer, Orbit Xtreme 8 X 54W T-5. Runs about 600 gph. Running about 8 weeks.

Chemistry is good, (but learned the hard way about tap water (my well water had loads of "stuff" and I am just getting over the hair algae plague ).

I was thinking about going to a refugium. How do I switch? How long does it take to cycle. Do I do dual filtering until it cycles?

Default Re: Switching to a Refugium

its not really a switch but an addition a refugium is a seperate tank where no filtration before or after a place to grow bugs, algea, a place to aid in nutrient removal and bio. filtration. i love my refugium i grow macro algea for my tang bugs for my other fishes i highly recomend adding a refugium use the water from your display tank some sand from there and a little rock and there shouldn't be any cycle time or very little.
