Default Do not Know where to place this

Has anyone out there been reading what is going on in the Solomon Island with that earthquake and Tsunami. I think it is just a very bad situation. I have seen pictures of whole reefs being exposed to the air. I hope someone can get out there and save some of it.

News

Apparently it's not good at all, from what I'm reading. The ocean bottom has been lifted 4 feet.

It occured on April 1, 2007 a Magnitude 8.1 earthquake that created tsunamies. There are Island in the Solomons where some of the most preciuos reefs are that have been completly raised out of the water, just lying there and dying off.BakuTODAY.net - Quake lifts Solomons island metres from the sea
From what I read there was not as many deaths in this one, but the damage to the reefs may not be able to fix.

Man thats just down right awful. All those people that relied on the reef environment and just like that its gone. And here I am thinking I hope the fish store gets something cool this week. I guess I will have a different perspective next trip to the fish store.

Its very sad, but you gotta look at it as part of nature...

These things have happened for who knows how many years... Lots of lost reef life is horrible, but things will come back together eventually... (if global warming dont ruin it first)
