| These kinda things happen.. I can tell you care about the loss and like I said it happens.. I'm sorry to hear the gramma passed... Get your water quality up as your in the process of doing and things will turn around for you.. RO/DI will show you a major difference over the course of the 1'st month from tap water... Keep your head up, this is a tough hobby sometimes |

| Sorry to hear about your losses. Misery likes company - I lost my flame angel & royal gramma over the weekend. So it's off to the lfs today to start stocking my new cube!! In the words of JB - Breathe in, breathe out, move on! Make sure the beer is cold!!!

| you sound like you have about as much good luck as i do. i brought home a nice stratius tang on saturday, acclimated him, dropped him in and everything looked good. i was rearranging some of my corals and i noticed he was hiding behind the live rock by the heater, took a closer look, he had huge bite marks on his back end, he was all tore up. there was no hope for him. i have lost a bunch of fish lately. some just die for no reason that i can see. i dropped in a couple fish the other day and for no reason my blue chromis just up and swam to the back top of the tank and slowly dropped down behind the rock, next thing i know he is gasping for air, 10mins later he is being eaten by the emerald crabs. he showed no signs whatsoever of being ill. oh well, so far everything else in the tank is doing good. just picked up a psychadelic mandarin last night, i hope he is still alive when i get home. steve |

| Yeah, I got my MightyMite Tuesday afternoon and need to get it set up so that I can at least break the filter in. I was using distilled, but felt it would be cheaper to move on up. I am also waiting on my protein skimmer...should be here Friday, that way if a fish dies, it may not hurt the environment too much. My son has a 20 gallon, so if something goes bad, it could really go bad, and I do not need any extra issues. I have no fish orders waiting for me at the LFS right now...I should be getting an emerald crab and a few nerite snails, but no fish yet. That is fine because I can only put so much in a 20 gallon anyway and I need to work on my water issues. |
