Default Question of circulation

Hello Everyone....
Wow... This is one addicting hobby. Been at it for about a month now. Have my tank cycled and live rock with a couple of peppermint shrimp doing well... My tank is a 90 gallon all glass with a 10 gallon sump. I have a Rio 2100 feeding a single powerhead in the tank.
My question is whether or not the single 2100 and single powerhead is enough to adequately circulate the water for reef like conditions? Everything I read says that circulation is right up there with lighting.
Any advice / reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. One other problem... How do you quit watching this damn thing... I am constantly finding myself looking up at the clock going "oh crap, I am going to be late for" something.... lol..
Adios,
Joel

you probably need at least 4 powerheads for that big a tank. my friend has a 75 gallon and he has 4. my little 37 gallon is pushing 2 by itself and i'm almost sure the current from one goes all the way from its end to the other end of the glass hahaha.. good luck.. btw, i am always looking at the glass too.. or sitting up in the middle of the night with a flashlight looking at the night time creepy crawlys that come out have fun, gl!

I would definitely increase the flow rate - what you're looking for is no dead spots in the the tank. A lot depends on how you have your rock positioned. You may be able to get by with 2 powerheads if you go to the Hydor Koralia ph. They move a ton of water.

I have a hydor koralia 4 in my 90 gallon plus to power heads from my sump. This seems to give to tank alot of current. My clown is almost swept away sometimes. For the money the hydor is pretty nice.

Thinking more about, sorry to piggyback Joel... Is it better to have more flow, i.e. a more turbulent tank, or a quieter one? I'm not sure which one myself. Right now, I'm leaning toward a quieter one myself, with an ok amount of flow, so as not have much slack water, as my Dad used to call it.
