Default DKH Test?

ok so with my test kit i recently acquired, i read about how to test for KH, which I'm pretty sure is carbonate hardness. for the directions of using this, it says take 5ml of aquarium water and put drops of the Reagent in the test vial.

my problem:
the only thing it says is "Place drops of reagent into vial and count the number of drops it takes to turn the water from blue to yellow". now what is this number? i got 8, but 8 what? 8 mg/L? 8 on a 1-10 scale? 8 on your hardness level? im confused

What kind of kit is it? It usually gives you a conversion scale. Some titrate in mg/k others dKH.

it actually doesn't. it just says "the number of drops added until the color changes represents level of hardness (german hardness)"...word for word.

"measuring accuracy increases if the test is performed with 10ml of aquarium water (1 drop testing liquid = 1/2 degree dH)"

...and that...

It measures then dH which equals dKH. KH is the German measurement K = Kalk.

Usually 1 drop is 1 dKH...

You wanna be in the 9-11 dKH range....
