| i went to the store for another bottle of copepods, they just sold the last bottle that morning. so i bought a bottle of those orange artic copepods. only thing is, now i cant find my mandarin...no where to be found in tank, unless he is hiding in rock, which by the way is about 2 months old in my tank but was being aquacultured at the LFS for a couple months. seems like i should see more growth on the live rock. oh well. i will still probably grab another bottle of that stuff in the near future..cant hurt. steve |

| Check out your tank at night and see how many pods are running around. It takes a few days for them to get established and begin breeding. If you just randomly add more thinking that some are good so more must be better you may find that there isn't enough food for them all to live. The die off probably won't harm your tank, but why waste the money if you haven't even evaluated what's going on? Mandarins don't belong in a 2 month old tank anyway, no matter how long the rock was aquacultured. You need an established reef tank for that, and that takes a year or more. |
