Default hermit crabs?

ok, so i know about blue legs, and scarlet, mexican reds.. but what about the other colors.. will they hurt anything? i ordered a "assorted mix" of hermits .. i figured i'd get blues and reds and scarlets ... instead i got all these white ones, a couple black/dark colored ones, and one red one. figures. so what you guys think? get rid of the others?

You can check out some sites like Saltwaterfish.com If you can match them to a picture you should be able to find more info on the variety they sent you. I have heard that some varieties can be trouble. But most seem to be reef safe and get along well with tank mates. I currently have only scarlet, blue leg hermits myself. The LFS doesn't stock a wide variety.

I have had some hermit crabs that get real big and will eat your snails. Not sure what kind they are cause I caught all the ones that looked like that and into the fuge they went. And I dont have any snails in my fuge.

I have blue and red (some are brights red, some are deeper red with white dots), but also zebra (brown and white striped) and one orange legged. The LFS said they are all basically the same. There are some you can get that are very large and they can be bad but all of the little guys are fine is what I was told.
