Default Emerald crabs & algae??

After reading other comments, I was wondering if Emerald crabs are good algae eaters? I have always thought they were fun to watch at the LFS. I am adding a clean-up crew a little at a time now. I was wondering if they do well with algae, if so what kinds? Or would it be better to wait and get them after a tank is better established?

Default Re: Emerald crabs & algae??

They say they eat bubble algae. I had one but it never touched the bubble in my tank. The thing turned hairy all over & wanted nothing but MEAT!!!
