Default Green Film Algea

My tank is about 2.5 weeks old and about every 3 days the film algea gets very thick where it is hard to see into the tank.....
I got 3 turbo snails of good size last night and one of them seems to be striping all of the algea off of my live rock where this morning it looked "white" is this ok opr should I remove them?
I want to make sure that I do not starve out my crabs..
I have 2 emerald crabs
2 blue legs
2 red legs
and a scarlet hermit
the tank is a 29gal bio cube with about 35 lbs or lr
it looks like the turbo is eating the purple algea along with the green ...
is this ok for the tank and the biological filtration?... I am trying to build a reef..
Thanks
