Default Pods

Just how big can pods get? We just bought a christmas tree coral from petco. (the petco here carries a TON of good stuff at a decent price. they'll order for you too) With the rock came about 10 tiny stars and various other inverts. In one of the crevices my fiancee saw what she called a "shrimp." She was terrified that it might be a mantis. However, after looking at it for a while I think it looks like a monster pod. So really, how big do they get?

BTW, the coral has 7 trees. We've got one that's solid blue, white and red, white blue and red, yellow and white, brown and white, and a couple that are all different colors. VERY cool.

Default Re: Pods

They can grow fairly large. I don't know much about their maximum size or physiology but I've seen several that are near the size of a nickel scurrying around my tank.

If you're concerned with it being a mantis shrimp just listen for the very distinct "click-click" at night. If it is a mantis, well, post back and we'll figure a way you can catch it and ship it to me.
