Default Mangroves in your tank or refugium???

Has anyone here tried using red mangrove plants in your tank or refugium. I have read several articles about the use of then for nutrient control and export. I have seen several research sites where they have removed the skimmer completely after getting the mangroves started and have ran very successful tanks. I am heading to central florida next month and was thinking about purchasing some seedlings while down there? Wondering of any experience from anyone here?

They are much like chaetomorpha, however, it grows slower so the nutrient exporting will be slower. Use cheato instead, unless you just want to grow yourself a mangrove. They do look pretty awesome.
