Default Cleaner crew selection

I just added 88 lbs of Kaelini live rock to my new tank (beautiful!!! stuff from seatrademarine.com) on Friday and now I’m starting to research the crew. My plan is to add a few crew at a time after the rock and live sand cycles.

Many books and web sites recommend the usual – snails, hermits and an occasional crab.

I’d like to be far more diverse than that and go with – snails, brittle star, feather cucumber, bivalves, clam and a sea squirt. I’d like to stay away from hermits just because of the damage (I read) they can do to snails.

Obviously my fish selection (in the future) will consider these guys.

Any bad or negative experience with this type of crew selection I should be aware of. Obviously, I’ll do the compatibility research before making my selection.

well that sounds good but if u want a better star sand sifting stars and linkina stars are very good at cleaning. stay away from sea squirts becuse they will release posions and kill any thing that the posion hit instead get a sponge they are good and a sandsifting cucumber

No sea squirts, got-it, great, that info helps.
Can you get a crew that does a good job without the hermits?

I read that Blennies should not be kept with - gobie, jawfish, wrasses, shrimp, star and coral.
This are pretty much everything I wanted to keep.
