Default Temps where should they be?

Hello everyone, if you don't know me i had a 55 gallon for about 2 yrs, and the temp was always at or around 78-79 degree's. I upgraded to a 90 around christmas and my temps fluxuate between 77 at night to 82-83 during the day depending upon how i keep the temp in the room it is in i usually keep it at 76 degree's. all of my corals as well as my fish and eel, are doing great but what do you think is the optimal temp for a tank my size, i know i probably should grab a chiller, but don't want to drop the cash right now. If you know where i can get a chiller for cheap let me know also if you can tell me what your temp runs at and how everything is doing, also what size your tank is i would appreciate it. i am just seeing if there is any corralation between my temp and the hair algea which is frustrating me. Thanks

Rick

in the summer I have my tank set to 80 + or - 1 degree in winter it is set to 78 + or - 1 Degree. I am using controller to maintain constant temp with heater and chiller. Those Temp swings are not healthy for your system.

I'd aim to keep your tank about 78-79 with a temp swing to 80-81 in the day

I gotta agree with KrazyK...a 4 degree temp swing should be maximum; any more than that and your specimens may begin to stress.
