Default New Fish - Indian Ocean Sailfin Tang!

We finally did a little planning on fish stocking and after water changes, chemical check, etc, decided we were ready to move a little further... so....

Today, we got an Indian Ocean Sailfin Tang (Zebrasoma desjardinii). Beautiful and amazing to watch. This one was clearly comfortable at the lfs in his tank, so we were comfortable that he was healthy and acclimated.

Brought him home, went through the process and he's now happily ensconced in the tank. Wow! Graceful, incredible to watch, and all the cleaner and peppermint shrimp are all over him like white on rice - cleaning, preening, etc.

He seems to be easygoing with the tankmates and while they give him a wide birth, he doesn't seemt o be giving anyone grief. Even at night (yes, we're up watching him under the moonies).

He's eating frozen mysis (yes thawed first!) and nori seaweed clipped to the tank. I know we need to get him some more veggie stuff, but need to find out what's recommended?

Outside of our own excitement (our first big fish!), any advice or thoughts out there on this guy? Habits, positives and negatives, stuff to watch for, feeding habits, etc? We've read the entry in the Marine Fishes book, but are looking for any advice.... Thanks!

Awesome choice on fish, when I upgrade to a 120, I am gonna get a Salifin Tang myself !!

Such personable fish !!!

Mysis, Nori, Krill, Prime Reef/Formula 1&2 flake..

All good stuff to feed them, the reef nutrition macro feast, they'll eat grape calurpa (sp?)

take some pics !!

This guy is doing great - very gentle and easygoing. He's eating mysis and nori, as well as the "New Life Spectrum Marine Fish Formula" that we give everyone in the tank.

I assume mine is still pretty young, since he's mostly brownish with lines, not the yellow/blue/green that I see pictures of....
