Default I need advice (choosing corals)

I am looking in to getting some corals so I am in need of some advice on the corals I'm interested in getting.

I am looking into getting a mushroom. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...fm?pCatId=2043

and I am also looking into getting this But I don't know if I have enough light for it I have two and a half Wat's per gallon
ReefStuff.com - Acropora Pulchra

And finally looking into getting a feather duster this.

what type of lighting system do you use, your wattage should be at least three/gal, so i wouldnt get any coral just yet espeacialy the acropora, the feather duster will be fine. Do you have any corals NOW if so what kind

hmmmm.....im not sure if i would get the acropora or that ricordia. if you wanted to get a different mushroom, like the bullseye or red mushroom, i think that would be OK, but the ricordias need a little more light.

Acropora is an SPS...they require very high lighting...GSP's are easy going on the lights

I understand so instead of putting money into corals I should put my money into the lighting is it better to get a new fixture or do a retro fit.

I would need a medium to high output light to be able to get the acropora right how many Wat's per gallon would that be for a medium light???

well, i would say 5wpg is safe for most corals. i also know at drsfostersmith they have a light i was about to get for my sump its only 32$ Compact Fluorescent Aquarium Lighting: Mini-Freshwater & Mini-Aqualights its the mini aqua light. you can also use that in addition to your lighting that you have now, that way its not an entire new system.

That is a good idea but the only problem is that it would be hard to get it to shine right into the tank because I have a hood on my nano

this is an old picture

Well I was looking at fixtures and the MH are way to expensive unless I can get one for cheep ebay or local sale.

So adding to my lighting or retro fitting it is the only chance I have to upgrade my lighting.
