Default Chaeto Shrinking/Brown?

I put a big bunch of healthy chaeto in my new HOB refugium about two weeks ago. Flow is good. Lighting is a 60 watt, 6500 "daylight" spiral flourescent in a clip-on desk lamp. it is placed DIRECTLY over the chaeto. I've been leaving the light on 24/7 (I know there are a variety of opinions about refugium photoperiod). Lately, the chaeto seems to be "shrinking", getting limp and turning a bit brownish on the top. Nitrates are 10, phosphates are 0. All testing parameters are good. I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions.
Thanks!
Chris
