Default taking tank pictures

I see these awesome pics posted and I'm curious as to how you take good pics of your tank? is there a post or website that can help? flash or no flash? lens right up against glass?

Grab your diver friend's mask and underwater camera and stick your face into the water?

...no? Am I the only one that does that? No wonder my fish think I'm crazy

Actually that works. You can get a new glass or acrylic pitcher of some kind and stick it in the water and take pictures looking thru that. It has to have a solid bottom thats perfectly flat.

It really helps if your camera has a macro focus so you can get very close.

Two are a few things I would try to do.
Use a flash, but shoot at an angle so you don't pick up glare from the picture.
Get as close as possible to the glass for individual pictures of corals and fish.
Us a high shutter speed for fast moving fish.
A tripod is always a good idea.
