Not to sure about the Rio's but I have a hydor koralia the largest one for my 90 gallon. Not a bad power head. But it seems to break the water flow into 2 steams. but it works great for me . if I had a choice it would of been the VorTech Propeller Pump but its out of my budget.

Those vortechs are sweet.I would sell a kidney for a pair of those. But at my age I would get about 49 cents lol.

I've got 4 Hydor Koralia's in my 125g and they seem to do fine - the corals seem happy and combined with the returns, no apparent dead spots. We've only been running the tank for about 2 months, so not long enough to determine lasting power, but no problems either. And easy for the snails to clean them (when those lazy snails feel like doing their jobs....)

What's up Mike ? From what I heard the koralia's are more than serviceable pumps. I bit the bullet and got a couple of vortech's and I think they're the best thing since sliced bread(okay, I'm exagerrating a bit....but they are pretty cool).

| I have a Koralia 1 and 3; and a Rio as well. I use the Rio to pump water through my chiller. I am happy with all of them so far. I think the Koralias give one more ways to direct the flow.
