Default Chocolate Chip Star Fish

I am new to saltwater fish. Today I bought a Chocolate Chip Star Fish. I love the way they crawl around the glass. My question is.... is it normal for the Chocolate Chip Star Fish to always make his way to the top of the tank and hang an arm out of the water. Is this normal? Thanks for the help

Im not sure, but they are not reef safe. at my lfs i see all the stars do that, maybe it is a sign of poor water quality. what are your parameters?

All my levels seem to be okay. Right now my tank is pretty basic, a few fish and some live rock/live sand with a few algea plants. thanks for the info

what about oxygen? maybe they are like fish and go to the surface when there is not enough oxygen.
