How far are you moving?????
If its not to far away you could get 2 five gallon buckets with some lids and syphon 5 gallons into the first bucket. Then fill the second bucket half way and put your live rock into the bucket and put on the lid. Leave a little water in with the sand. You could probly put your snails and hermits into the first bucket with a lid. You should be able to move the tank with no harm to anything. (as long as its not to far away) Keep your buckets in kind of a cool place while moving if its hot were you are. Or in a warm place if it cool. You might want to get a few more responses before you take me up on this but I think I would do it.

You could probly put them into the bucket too. Or you can bag them but make sure you leave enough air inside the bag. If you do that put them into a styrofoam contianer for the drive to keep the temprature close to normal or add a hand warmer. You know if there like a couple of damsels 5 or 10 bucks each then if they did'nt make it there would not be a great loss.

I have been dreading my planned move in the next year which will be about 30 mins away and from a 75 to a 120 gallon tank. The problem isn't necessarily how I will move the fish, corals and equipment, it will be how I will seed the new tank so that I have the minimal loss rate possible once I place them into their new home. I will get the water parameters right and make sure the skimmer and lights are ready to go, but i really want to use almost all of my established tank water and sand to really ensure a smooth transistion for my tank.
