If this is a new tank, it's all part of the process. Probably diatoms - it'll go away. CUC will also help get rid of it.

CUC> Clean UP Crew> snails,crabs etc...as your aware.....

Do a water change> Brown is normal in the beginning I wonder if you have enought watts per gallon> I would think you would have green hair by now>

Water change and cut the light and lower the hours light is on per day...

If the tank hasn't cycled yet, don't do a water change - it will only extend the length of time required for the tank to cycle.
If you feel you need to do something, run a silicate remover in the filter.

My tnak is old but i might be having a mini cycle becasue my canistar filter fell and the water ran out... so i had to replace it with new RO/DI water and i think that might have caused a mini cycle

My suggestion is getting Astrea snails they are cleaning spotless my brown algea. They are active and doing a great job and I am loving them. Bumblebee snails also eat diatom blooms and brown algea too.

Hi Lewis, I am not understanding what you are using a canister along with the wet/dry for? Check out my post on algae, it will help you understand. Diatoms come from time to time, an indication of a healthy tank. Add 3-5 tiger or turtle conchs to harvest the algae and keep your bed clean.

You'll get better responses if you post your own thread - if your tank is 6 weeks old you could have a diatom bloom, which is normal part of cycling. Check and post your water parameters. You might slow down on stocking any more fish, at least until the tank has completely cycled, (but I'm really conservative about QT'ing fish etc...) you might also have some problems with an anemone as they like established tanks....
