| Thanks. How often do you clean or change the felt pad (I know it's in the vote you submitted)?

| I recently started using a 100 micron filter sock and I must say that the gunk it filters out is great. I know people say that using them takes food away from the copepods and all in the refugium, but the way it makes the water look so clear is undeniable. Besides, if you are cleaning your protein skimmer out several times a week, changing your sock once a week can't be that much more time consuming. |
| ||||
| I've noticed that it polishes my water to a high degree so i really don't see why more people wouldn't use it, even if they do have critters in their sump that eat the particulate. |

| my filter sock, is literally an old sock form my drawer. works great! well, at least on getting the larger debris and uneaten food.

| Every 4 to 6 weeks on the felt. I run a ocean clear to polish my water to 25 microns and it's lucky if i pull it out to bleach it every 3 months, no fuss no muss! There is a pressure guage on the canister that lets me know when it's time to pull it out!

| I have the same thing JV does. I clean my pad out every 2 days. |
| ||||
| How much is an Ocean Clear and where can I pick one up at? |

atleast im not the only one who thinks like that, all though just a thought. I was gonna use these little filter bags that you fill up with carbon for hang on filters, And use them as throw aways, I could use the carbon in my emperor 400 filter. Whisper disposable filter Bio-bags is what they are I think

| Is it the Ocean clear 317? What kind of pump would you suggest, a Mag 9.5 or 12 maybe? |
| ||||
| The canister is rated @ 800 - 1200 GPH I feel the Higher side is working better since I ran both 800 and 1200 GPH at 800 when the filter gets dirty a noticable flow rate change with the 1200 I only notice higher pressure in the canister. I have the 380. The 317 is great unit and includes the pressure guage. Please remember to cast your vote! Nudge

| I do not use any type of mechanical filtration whatsoever. Yes, I have lots of particulate matter floating around. I also have feather dusters, crabs, snails, a goby, some unidentified critters. I only feed the goby a tiny bit of food; the rest is swallowed up by the tank. I like diversity. Is the ocean crystal clear up close? no.

| I have a sump and skimmer what else would you recomend for a 90gallon tank to make it clearer without taking out or putting anything bad in the water that will hurt fish or the good stuff? |
| ||||
| Good water movement, some form of mechanical filtration in the sump, proper interval water changes and good reef janitors is the best natural way about getting good clean water parameters. But you have to stay on top of your maintenance, no slouching. |
| ||||
| i'VE THOUGHT ABOUT USING A SOCK BUT i DONT THINK i HAVE ANY ROOM FOR IT PLUS i USE A MEGAFLOW FILTER SO THERE REALLY IS NO PLACE FOR IT. |
| ||||
| Your Megaflow works good for you? |
| ||||
| I use a filter sock for the micro bubbles and it help to keep my sump clean. Rj |
| ||||
| Megaflow seems to be working well for me. I know the bio balls are not the best for it so when I move next month I'm going to replace them with LR rubble. Dont need anymore nitrates. Hopefully in the future I can get a refugeme going but that takes $$$$$$ and with moving across country. |
