Default Filter Panic!

Im am brand new to Marine fish, and have had a tank set up for a while, and today bought my first 2 fish....a Humbug and a clownfish. The only problem is that my mechancal filter (fluval 3+) is far too strong....especially for the clownfish who is obviously not liking it at all. Ive turned off the filter as to not distress them, but i know i cant keep it like this for long. Im worried...I live in a remote area so cant just pop out and buy a new filter. Please tell me what to do, or what i could buy on the internet.

How big is the tank? How much power do you have on the Fluval (in GPH?) Clown shouldn't have a problem too much with the normal 20x GPH turnover that is required for corals. Also try pointing your return head towards the opposite glass. Maybe it just needs to be redirected rather then turned down.

My tank is 127 litres 80 x 35 x 45. It is a fluval 800 deep. The filter came with the tank, so it should be the right out put.....as far as i can tell its L/H 700 and U.S GPH 185. Ive managed to turn the bubbles off, so its just a rush of water. The Humbugs are fine, but the clown is still hiding behind the filter. He hasnt moved much and is sticking very close to the top of the water. I read so much, and prepared for so long, i just hope nothing go's wrong.

Thought id let you know that everything seems better this morning....the clown might have been distressed from the journey. Tested all my levels this morning, and everything is ok.....however the salt level has dropped dramatically. Strange

Default Brand new home syndrom

He could be just freaked out from his new move. But i would have to agree he should be fine with the current. I would turn it back on even if you are going to replace it he will be fine until ya do! You got to keep your water moving.
