Default Long Spine Urchin Stripes...

Hey, does anyone know why my long spine urchin has developed white stripes on some of its spines? It has been doing really good, moving night and day, and eating like crazy. Im hoping its a growth spurt or something. I have had it in my tank for 3 months now, and is with a pencil urchin, a pincushion urchin, 2 clown fish, and a pink goby. I noticed one at one at the LFS and some of its spines are all white. Any Ideas?

Its due to rapid growth. I have the same thing on mine. Its completely fine. We have the exact same urchin. Its just new growth.

ok, cool. I know it has been growing like crazy. I have had it for 3 months and it has went from 2 inches to now close to 6 inches. I think I better trade him if he keeps it up, the LFS has them that are only 1/2 inch total size. Thanks

yea, I had no idea they would grow like this, but all they do is eat and at the LFS they dont have all the live rock like when you bring them home
