| Distilled water will work just fine but test it before you put it in your tank. If you have an LFS see what they are getting for RO/DI, it should be anywhere from $0.25 to $0.70 a gallon. I pay $0.29 a gallon at one of my LFS. I have a 55 gal and evaporate 1 gal a day so it can get pricey if I were paying around a buck a day.

| Not so. Cartridges should last around a year depending on how "dirty" your water is. Depending on your needs you can get a good unit for much less than $250. Still cheaper in the long run to get your own filter by the time you factor in the price of gas to get the water, time spent, etc, etc, etc........

| Wow! I am really getting ripped off then . The only place around here that sells RO/DI water charges $0.97 a gallon , so I had nothing to compare the price to. Thats how I have had to buy it. I can't wait until I can afford an RO/DI unit. lol. |
