Live sand & substrates

Do I want to use all live sand or a mix of live sand and substrate? At first I thought they were the same thing. But, I have been looking and they seem to be differnt. And how much live sand should I use? I will have a 55gal reef tank.

You can mix live sand and agranite sand 50/50 and it will do fine . All live sand is better but I think you will be pleased using it mixed. After a while it will all be live anyway.
