Default Reef tank

A reef tank is so much more than the sum of its parts. Understanding that is the difference between a tank with reef things in it and a true reef tank. Just thinking to myself...

Anyone can buy all the pieces. The equipment, corals, fish are within anyones grasp.

Some people can put the pieces together and maintain a reef tank for a given amount of time.

Only a relative few can put this artificial ecosystem together and make it thrive for a length of time.

A beautiful reef tank thats been running for say 3 years or more is surely worth much more than the cost of the parts to put it together.

Remember, most of us buy animals and maintain them in our tanks. We do not get them to thrive. There is a huge difference. I look at all the mistakes Ive made and ask...what kind of aquarist am I?

What kind of Aquarist are you?

I would have to say I am an intermediate aquariast. Most things thrive, just not as well as they should. I completely agree with you on this one Jim!

I agree! There is so much to learn, you just have to take it one step at a time, and be willing to take your tank, and your ability, to the next level.

I can agree I'm still trying to correct some of the things I first started with so it can make it to that point and full enjoyment from my family.
