Default Stupid Question Time

OK here it is. I have been seeing bubbles coming out of my sand two or three times a day. Is that normal? I only have 1 1/2" of sand in the deploy tank. Every body in the tank seems happy but I have been wondering about the bubbles. So smarten me up!!!! As my 5 year old nephew puts it

Default Re: Stupid Question Time

Bubbles from the sand bed is normal. Could be either algae living in the upper layer releasing O2/CO2, or Nitrogen being released as part of the nitrogen cycle. Either way its good.
