| You really need to checkout the Mg levels first as if this is too low you won't stand a chance of getting the Ca/Alk levels correct. Mg needs to be around 1400ppm, When you've got this balanced then start correcting you ca/alk but remeber don't try and do this to fast! Any of them. When your mag levels are ok you can then try and use a two part buffer called c-balance.This is a good simple method and it's also clearly marked on the box how much you need to add to buff up to the right levels Olliereefer

Check out you system with these. Reef Chemistry Calculator Keep in mind anytime you change something in your tank (especially water chemistry) it needs to be watched closely. It may say Ca on the label butthat doesnt mean your tank we react the same as it has been with a different type or brand. Good luck!!! Last edited by jimw369; 10-22-2007 at 09:13 PM. |

| I'll ask the simplest question first. Why did you change what you were doing? Were your CA levels always low?
