Tank cleaners and stuff

I am starting a 55gal reef tank. My question is this. What and how many snails etc do I need. I have looked at sevreal cleaner pkgs from a lot of places and they all seem to recomend differnt amounts. And I am wondering this. Like if I get a algea pack for a 55 gal tank but really want a sand sifting star fish and a cucumber do I need to subtract a certain qty of other things? Any help on this will really be great.

Don't get a sand sifting star fish, these eat up good things in your sand and eventually will starve to death from lack of nutrients, these guys need a constant fresh live sand supply to stay healthy or regular feeding of other different foods.

I would get 5 nassarius snails, and 4 turbo snails. You should be fine with them. Make sure on the nassarius snails that your CA levels are above 400 as they need CA to build their shell.
Turbo snails eat algae like nobody's business

I am tring them out right now, but I know one of the big draw backs is that if they die your levels with sky rocket. So most of the people that i have talked to stay away from them for that reason.
