Default issues with nitrate lvl

hey all, new to these forums been talking for about 2-3 days now. ive gotten some good advice but i thought i would throw something else out there to get some feed back.

I got a 30 gal reef tank, dia's are 30"x18"x12", i believe, lol, wow i forget my own dia's, anyhoo this weekend i got some more coral, and a fire shrimp and a barlett anthias. also some algae for my refugium and some LS to add in tht as well, ( i got about 4-5" of depth in there). b4 the change my lvl in the tank were all normal other then a diatom outbreak which i got but got tht in control with some algone my wife got online. well, these last few days have been kinda werid witht he tank going from a PH of 8.8 to nitrate of 40-80+, when b4 the weekend i was always at or close to 0. my amonia and nitrite are still 0. i chked my KH thinking it might be tht but tht is at 10, and i read 8-12 is normal. My clacium is 460ppm and i was told tht is about right for my size tank.

I jsut cant seem to get the Ph and nitrate down, i was wondering if it is jsut form the shock of adding all the new stuff and i should wait for the tank to cycle a lil more and keep up with my water changes like i have been? Or is something tht i might be adding r doing wrong. I though it could be all the corals i added but the seem do be doing great witht he accetuon of my blue acorada which hasnt come out i guess u could say.
If u can think of anything, O BTW ive had my tank set up for about 2+ months and had 4 fish , a torch coral, and some mushroom in b4 this weekend and everything was growing and stuff, no issues.s

It is probably being caused by the Algone and new LS that you just added. I would stop using the Algone and do a water change. If the LS had any dead matter in it, it could cause your nitrates to rise.

i only us RO, tap water has to much crap in it for saltwater application, but ty. yes i did take out the algone and did a water change last night. havnt tested the water yet due to being at work but ill try those things, and yes there was dead matter inthe LS i believe from the waater change lsst night. Had a bunch f lil particals come out int he main tank when i turned the pumps back on. ILl keep on it and ty for the addvice.
