Icon14 sump/refuge flo?

So I can't figure out how much flow to have going through my sump/fuge. I have a 55gl DT and a 20gl sump/fuge with skimmer. I have a Sio 1700 with 3.5ft of head and a over flow rated at 300gal an hour. will this work for a FOLR set up?

I thought you should have something like 10x your tank volume going through the sump per hour. The fuge, on the other hand, is supposed to have alot less so that you dont tear the poo out of everything in there. There are a few ways to do that. Most people just use 2 fairly large baffle type things and just let the water run over the top of it. Something like this....

Yeah, Jeremy is absolutely right! Fuge's do not need much flow, in fact less flow is suggested for both the sump and fuge. This allows for maximum nutrient export. Usually a little less than 10x turnover is preferred.

So I'm looking at 6x the tank volume going through the sump/fuge and skimmer, is that way to low or will I get good nutrient export from this set up? Or more to the point will this work for my FOLR set up with a low bio load? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP

Well, the actualy tank flow should be IMO around 20-30x turnover. Then the sump/fuge should have no more than 10x. I think 6x will be fine.

I could add some power heads to the DT to get the 20-30x turnover right. Thank you Elliot, you have given me good advice on most or all of my questions. You get my vote for RB member of the year. lol.
