Default Purple Algae, how to get rid of it?

I have been having problem with some purple algae, I heard is due to my water. I have been using only R/O water and have only wet/dry filtration. what can I do to get rid instead of erytromyocin. Acording to some readings it says that is due to bacteria in the water. So I have been changing water every week. 5g at time.
Sorry the tank is 55g and has been running for 1 year with no problem b4. No new addition.
Thanks for your input
Filipe

Are you talking about coraline algae? If so--it is beneficial to your tank. Here's a pic.

Otherwise, I am sorry but I am of no help if there is a differ purple algae

Try to syphon some of the out. Also, try to improve the water flow in that area of the tank. You should aim for a 20x turnover rate in your tank.

To get rid of what you have, some sand sifting/stirring critters would help a great deal; ie, sand sifting goby, hermit crabs, sand sifting star, horshoe crab, cerith snails, nassarius snails, conchs will help also.
