Default strange bumps in the night

My tank has been running for over a year.In the last month or two I've had a hawkfish, coral banded shrimp, and lots of hermits die.I have'nt added any thing in about 3 months.A couple of times I've heard a clicking noise coming from my tank.Upon investigation I found nothing and never thought about it again.I'm up late so I see my tank well after the lights are off and never seen anything strange. It kind of sounds like a mantis shrimp. How could it have gone unnoticed?Opinions?Mantis shrimp?Sleep dep?

I would PM Elliott and have him send you the drawing of the trap. It is a really simple design but i would not know how to explain it without a picture...

If not a mantis, perhaps the heater is shorting. Do you have a ground probe in just in case? Concentrate on the heater.

I am going with the mantis shrimp as they do go click in the night and are often responsable when critters go mia.

Get a flash light that come with a red lens and watch the tank at night (most critters cant see red).Mantis shrimp on the hunt are fun to watch, unless they have a firm grip on your fish lol.
