Default sump fuge help?

i have a wet/dry that i took the bioballs out of and use lr rubble instead .. what i was thinking of doing is adding a small baffle to keep the sand out of the return pump , then putting some sand and some things in it , dont know what to put in there to help with the tank , maybe some shrimps and snails .. some type of plants ??? any ideas.

cheato and a small amout of light will work wondes in the mid chamber for reducing the amount of algae growth in your tank... very inexpensive and you can use any old light.. nothing else is really needed...

you cant use "any old light" but many light would work. I have a light I got at home depot for 7$ plus the fixture was 5$.

The bulb is a flood light type of bulb that is 6700k. The fixture is a clamp on and has a large metal reflector which I took off.

i'm with e_baer on this one, i don't think drilling is necessary.. you can use some epoxy and partitions, a couple bulkheads and a pump and away you go

good luck with that..

another idea is to go to your LFS and take a look at their sumps to get a good idea..

Bulkheads are for a drilled tank....unless you get an overflow box.

I added baffles, live rock rubble and sand to my wet dry filter. still need to add a light and something to control the bubbles from the return pump.
